If only I get a nickel for every time someone asks me how to get more traffic to their website… well, I wouldn’t exactly be rich, but I would have a LOT of nickels.
Truth be told, my website isn’t one of those that are just flooded with browsers. No. I don’t want it to be that way, and you shouldn’t too. It’s easy to get that kind of traffic; just buy one of those guaranteed traffic and there you have it. So called "targeted quality traffic" eating up your bandwidth.
What you want are highly targeted prospects. Someone who’s interested in what you have to say about a specific subject. You want a lot of those, but their number will always be smaller than those popular websites you’re aspiring to be; though you might make way more money than them.
So that’s what I’m going to talk about today. Getting really targeted people to your web copy where they can be sold. Now, there’s a lot of techniques to do that but here’s one that’s working best for me, and that’s organic search engines. You’re about 7 times more likely to get traffic from an organic listing than a PPC ad.
But before I go ahead and reveal it, I just want to add a little something and that’s people worry too much about getting traffic! Making sure your website sells is job no.1 ! Driving traffic to a website that doesn’t sell is a quick way to go broke so please learn a little about copywriting before anything else.

- You HAVE to keep your site updated. There’s no need to update every a few hours or so. Heck, you don’t even need to update everyday. Once every 2 -3 days is just fine.
- When copywriting for your website, make sure you speak your customer’s language. By that, I mean the keywords they use to search the internet. Use them early in the copy and use them often throughout the copy . Let the search engines know your website is relevant to that subject.
- Here’s a little tip about the search engines: They don’t read punctuations. Know what that means to you? If you target phrase is "make money online", you can write something like "Where to make money? Online is the best place to do that." You can still achieve your target phrase even if it isn’t really what you’re talking about.
- It is crucial for you to include your keyword phrase to be included in your headline. If you have <h2>, <h3> tags and so forth, find a way to include it too.
- It is preferable for you to use your keyword phrase in your sentence and your last sentence.
- Remember that ultimately, you are for humans to read so don’t please write something that makes sense.
- Most importantly, track everything from visitor behavior to keywords that you rank for. Once you know them, you can make the necessary adjustment to maintain it.

See, web copywriting for the search engines are really not that difficult. These little changes can make a huge difference to your website’s ranking but it will not happen unless you do something about it. So go and make it happen.
