How To Increase Your Conversion And Cut Your Work Load

by Andre Thomas on July 15, 2008

Simultaneously increasing your conversion and cutting your work load may sound like a pipe dream but it’s possible. I’ve done it and I’m sure you can too because you see, most of  us are conditioned to think that hard work = success and that the more complex something is, the "better" it is.

Well, guess what? Here’s a newsflash: That’s all a bunch a bull. I’m here to tell you that any kind of perfection always leads to simplicity.

Here’s what Bruce Lee has to say about the subject,

"… one does not accumulate but eliminate. It is not daily increase but daily decrease. The height of cultivation always runs to simplicity."

So how does simplicity apply to strategic web copywriting ? Well, plenty. For example,

The simpler a website is to navigate, the higher the conversion rate is. Why is that? Because simple websites have but one purpose and one purpose only. It’s very clear about what that purpose is. So here’s what you can do RIGHT NOW to increase your conversion of a page:

Eliminate all the noise and distractions . Eliminate all other widgets and jingles that you use for the sake of using (I know you do it). Leave only the main purpose of that page so for example, if it is a capture page, eliminate the adsense, advertisements and links to your other websites.

And remember next time you design a website, leave all those junk behind and you’ll find your work load lessen significantly.
