If you know anything about marketing in general, you would know the importance of back-end sales.
For those of you who don’t know what back-end sales are, they are products you sell to your customers after they buy something from you. Back-ends are normally more expensive than front-ends and so businesses often make more money there than they do in that initial small sale.
A core principle of back-end selling is the concept of relevancy . That means the product that you sell after the first sale has to be related to what you sold in the front-end. So let’s say you sold a $20 weight-loss book as a front-end, your back-ends (often promoted in the book itself) are your pricey weight-loss supplements.
What You Can Learn From Amazon
Amazon also did a similar thing. They took the concept of relevancy and implemented it flawlessly.
If you shop at Amazon, you’ll quickly notice the
"Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought"
part of the website. For those of you who haven’t noticed, you probably bought a few books from those recommendations (or as a result of clicking on those recommendations)… impulsively .
You never planned for it but you just bought it. And even if you don’t buy, you end up clicking on one of them, only to click items related to the product that is related to the product you initially looked for. (Boy, that’s confusing)
That’s how powerful relevancy is. And as you probably are already aware of, Google is practically married to Amazon. And if memory serves me, I read somewhere that after implementing that strategy, their sales tripled or something. (I’m not sure so please don’t quote me on that.)
Use This Plugin To Achieve The Same Results Amazon Did
Now, what have this got to do with you? For one, if you run an e-commerce type of website, don’t forget to do the same thing Amazon did.
And if you run a simple sales letter type website, don’t forget your up-sell in your Thank you page.
But that’s not what I’m going to talk about today. Today, I want to take the relevancy concept into your blog to skyrocket your readership base.
The simple idea is simply to display related posts below all your posts !
If you take a look around the neighborhood, a majority of the best blogs use this strategy. The reason is because it makes people stay in your blog for a longer period of time time .
So here’s how you do it.
1. First, download the plugin (wordpress only) here . Follow instructions and download the required plugin for it to work.
2. Then download another plugin to display "similar posts" at the end of every post here . Install and activate.
3. Once that’s done, go to manage -> sniplets -> options -> tick execute php in posts.
4. Grab the code and paste it into a sniplet that displays at the end of every post.
5. That’s all!
If you have any questions, leave them here at the comments section and I’ll check it out.

Hey Andre
I happened to write an article a few days ago on the same concept of relevancy you talked about it. A case in point is the plugin that display a list of the pages the readers go after reading a particular post. It’s a nice complement to the plugin you mentioned above.
Pardon me for link here:
